Kinshasa Hosts Andrey Stenin International Press Photo Contest Roadshow
Works by laureates of the Andrey Stenin International Press Photo Contest are on display in the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the sixth time. The international touring exhibition has been hosted by the Free University of Kinshasa. The exhibition is traditionally held with the support of the Russian Embassy in the DRC.
The exposition brings together 55 photographs – single works and series by young photojournalists from 15 countries. The exhibition touches on the sharp edges of life: the struggle for survival, harsh daily labor, sporting triumphs and defeats, the pain of loss and irreversible change, and other profound human stories.
Russian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo Karl Tikhaze noted:

The Andrey Stenin International Press Photo Contest, which brings together gifted young photographers from around the world, continues the tradition of holding traveling exhibitions of its laureates’ works in Russia and abroad. I am truly glad that the exhibition of striking, impressive photographs taken by professionals from different corners of the planet has been held in the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the sixth consecutive year, and I hope that next year we will see young Congolese photojournalists among the winners".
